Sick of the default XP theme, I decided to do some mixing and matching of various bits and pieces from here and there to get what I consider a 'perfect' steampunk setup. However, the project had to be scrapped due to the lack of a permanent and free program to modify my XP theme.
The XP toolbar had to be pasted in from a different screenshot I took a while back when I still had the free trial of WindowBlinds installed.
The cursor can't be seen in this screenshot, but is located on the zoomed-in ObjectDock icon there.
I used the following to get this setup: Programs: Stardock WindowBlinds. Stardock ObjectDock. Stardock CursorFX. Rainlendar.
Themes, skins, etc: Steampunk theme for WindowBlinds. TransBrass skin for ObjectDock. Agaz Icon Pack for the icons on the ObjectDock. [link] Oxide Cursor for CursorFX. [link] "Rail Haven" by Marco Rolandi. [link]
Not all the proper Steampunk stuff I found looked good, so I sometimes had to use bits and pieces from stuff not related to it in order to get the desired look. The architecture on the buildings in the wallpaper also has a bit of an Art Deco feel, I suppose.

Still, nice work!
Glad you liked the desktop.
