-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Commentary: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This flag was requested by ~kazi2000 who wanted an alternate flag for Romania in a world where the Hohenzollerns remained in power and created a proper Romanian Empire.
The basic flag design wasn't very difficult, but I spent hours getting the eagle right. I didn't have to draw it from scratch or anything, but the eagle I based it on is pretty old, and was not created digitally.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Symbology: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Normally the shield on the eagle would depict the heraldic elements of each of the four major sub-divisions of Romania, but I decided against it this time for the sake of simplicity. The central shield instead represents the House of Hoenzollern, with the four stars taking the role of representing the aforementioned major sub-divisions.
The saltire represents St. Andrew, patron saint of Romania.
The colours are the red, gold and blue of Romania, of course.
Could I also give a request? I´d need a flag with prussian-blue background and an Iron Cross (the form from ww 1. or before) with white edge and inside just black. You can also add more design details if you think it looks better^^ But the Iron Cross should be good seen even on the dark-blue background. That would be really nice from you!

Sounds like a pretty simplistic flag. What is it for? I might spice it up a bit if appropriate. Shouldn't be too difficult though.
I'll get you an untextured version if you prefer that.
